Drawing your attention
Performance, duration: three days of 1 hour
SEAPA BU World Symposium, Bangkok (TH), 2013
“Drawing your attention” is an interactive performance installation. In our performance Liesje van den Berk catches the movements of the people. Wherever their shadow touches a paper, canvas or the ground she registers the outlines of their shadows. She draws without lifting the pencil of the surface. During this performance Jeen Rabs will create rhythms and soundscapes with his guitar and soundeffects to influence the audiences and the drawing. Can the music influence the movement of the audience with rhythms and atmospheres and by that the drawing, or can the drawing create new music that will then influence the audience? Spectators change during the performance installation from a visitor into a performer and from a watcher into a mover and visa versa. They open up their horizon.
The result is a vibrant installation filled with lines of the bodies and encounters that are crossed over and over again. How are you related to the space around you, the others, sounds and time?
